Belotero is an anti-aging injectable dermal filler that consists of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance already in the body. It is very smooth and integrates with your skin’s tissues, allowing for a very natural and subtle result.
Belotero is especially effective on fine lines around the mouth, as well as the “hollows” around the eyes. Because of the delicate nature of these lines, it is vital that you have an experienced and skilled injector such as Dr. Dutton to provide you with an optimal outcome that does not look overdone.
Benefits of Belotero
Belotero is most often used to improve:
- Vertical lip/mouth lines
- Dark “orbital hollows” around the eyes
- Marionette lines from the corners of the mouth down the chin
- Lines in the corners of the mouth
- Smile lines / nasolabial folds
Sometimes, Dr. Dutton recommends a combination of dermal fillers to achieve the optimal result. Other fillers that he offers include Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Sculptra®, and Collagen.
The Belotero Procedure
Your Belotero appointment will not take long. The injections do not contain Lidocaine, however, so they may be a bit more painful than other injections. To compensate for this, Dr. Dutton will use a numbing cream to help reduce discomfort.
While length of results vary from one patient to another, Belotero injections generally last 4-6 months.
Belotero Injection Recovery
No downtime is needed after Belotero. You can continue with all of your normal activities right away, including work.
You may experience some bruising, swelling, and soreness, but this should resolve within a few days. The bruising is usually slight, and you can cover it with makeup.
Most people find that the mild after-effects of these injections are well worth the results of a facial filler like Belotero.
